Flags Across Baytown Program
The Baytown Lions Club's "Flags Across Baytown" has become the signature fund raising project of the club and has become widely appreciated by the public and has been frequently publicized in the local newspaper.
For a contribution of $35 per flag, the Baytown Lions Club will display a beautiful nylon 3'x5' American flag in front of your home or business on six patriotic holidays during the year. For 4 flags or more the contribution is $30 per flag. You will be billed annually to renew the service.
The six holidays that the flag will be displayed are Presidents Day (February), Memorial Day (May), Flag Day (June), Independence Day (July), Labor Day (September), and Veterans Day (November). For the holidays that are three day weekends, the club will generally put up the flag on Friday and take them down on Tuesday. Of course, weather conditions sometimes dictates a different schedule. The club stores the flags between holidays to keep them clean and dry.
Proceeds from the Flag program go to support our charitable programs; graduating senior scholarships, eyeglasses for needy elementary children, Texas Lions Camp, and other local charities.
The club is currently displaying about 700 flags across Baytown. Approximately 15 Lions Club volunteers are actively involved in the flag program each holiday period.
